What are we doing in Rwanda?
Since 2012, we have been working diligently to make an impact in the lives of vulnerable women and children in Rwanda. You may have heard of Rwanda, a country devastated in 1994 by genocide where approximately 1,000,000 people were killed in only 100 days. However since 1994, the country has come a long way in forgiveness, love, and reconciliation. Rwanda, known as the land of a thousand hills, is a beautiful country in which we are honored to be able to help.
Poverty, lack of proper nutrition, the inability for children to go to school, homelessness, abuse, prostitution, and trafficking are all issues in which we have stared at head on. We work day by day to improve our methods and serve our beneficiaries to the best of our ability. We started first with an emergency rescue shelter so that emergency shelter and care could be offered to the ones in extreme circumstances. In the Spring of 2017, we transitioned to more of a foster care style system so that children can grow up in a more intimate family style environment.
Our team in Rwanda works alongside the families to make sure that the children are getting the very best care included shelter, food, medical, education, and mentoring. If you are interested in sponsoring one of these children, we would love to have you join us on this journey! Please go to our sponsorship page.
