Ganza Peace is a creative child who enjoys telling stories and taking part in physical activities such as running, jumping, and playing with balls. Gihozo Uwase Kenitha joined the Kayovu Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) program in 2019 when Alphonsine was gathering local children in her home. When she first arrived, she could only sit or lie down, with very limited movement. Through the care and support she received, she began making remarkable progress and, by 2020, started learning how to stand. In January 2025, IWSI partnered with Alphonsine to formalize the ECDC. Kenitha had left the program at age five but returned in 2025 and began to thrive. Within the first year, she was able to communicate her needs and participate in activities with the other children. Kenitha’s journey is a powerful testament to the life-changing impact of the work being done at Kayovu Early Childhood Development Center. Her story reminds us that transformation is possible with consistent care, support, and opportunity. Sponsorship helps ensure that support for Kenitha continues.
